    Description

    Today I am pleased to be offering for sale this vintage
    Japanese vase. It is a molded vase, formed to look like the cloisonne Totai tree bark technique (see rough background areas of vase).  It is a style called Tokanabe.  Tokanabe was mold-pressed pottery, made in Japan for the US market in the 1920s and 30s. It is a hand painted, vase with lovely birds, leaves and blossoms in relief from the rough background. This vase is in very good vintage shape, no cracks or chips, but some loss of glaze or paint in areas. This vase, which will display well is marked "Made in Japan" and "Hand Painted). The vase stands approximately 9.5" high. Thanks for looking!
